An award-winning former BBC documentary producer, he traces the chaotic retreat of the Latvian 15th SS Division across Poland to find few memorials to the carnage they survived. Hunt's 25-year BBC career took him across the UK, USA and Africa making social history and music documentaries, including the revived Radio Ballads series of 2006-2014. A companion volume The Lost Legion continues the story once they crossed the Oder (Helion, 2023).
