Autorenporträt
The Good Sheriff began to take shape one spring afternoon on a visit to the covered bridge in Wimer, Oregon. After snapping a few photos, I set out on a scenic drive to Eagle Point, winding along a narrow mountain road. I came across a woman from Southern California, stranded in her car after an unexpected snowstorm. I spent the next hour helping free her vehicle, and the encounter got me thinking about the vulnerability of people in the rugged, remote Pacific Northwest areas. Small towns have their secrets, and in wild places like these, strange events can unfold without a soul knowing. With this backdrop in mind, Sheriff Maxwell Wilcox emerged-a man who, alongside some unforgettable characters, confronts unusual threats and finds himself in a high-stakes, twisting thriller.
