The major ecotourism potentials in and around Gorgora include lake Tana, beaches, diverse birds species for bird watching, scenic landscape, wetland plain birds, aquatic and some other mammals, cultural and historical attractions , and some hotels or lodges and their recreational activities such as swimming, boating, fishing etc., in and around Gorgora that contributed to attract eco-tourists or bird watchers to Gorgora. Finally, Developing infrastructures, increasing awareness of the local communities, introducing and promoting community based ecotourism are important strategic directions for Gorgora communities.
