As a clean energy carrier, hydrogen has a multitude of advantages for simultaneously de-carbonizing the transportation, residential, commercial and industrial sectors. Hydrogen has demonstrated the ability to establish strong synergies with other low-carbon alternatives, enabling a more cost-effective energy transition to de-carbonized, cleaner, environmentally non-toxic energy systems.The objective of this paper is to highlight the potential of hydrogen, starting from an analysis of its first fossil competitor, natural gas, and concluding with a precise study of the economics of hydrogen.
