This book studies the contribution of trees to the fight against climate change. Usually we hear about the importance of vegetation in the fight against climate change. In Ghana for instance, governments organize mass tree planting exercises and spend huge financial resources trying to get people to plant trees for reasons they might not adequately understand. There is however inadequate explanation of climate change, its effects nor how the trees help in its mitigation. This book serves to educate people on climate change as well as its effects on various facets of our lives. It also makes important suggestions towards the mitigation of climate change and its effects. It does so from the perspective of the African continent. This work also shows by existing formulae how trees sequester carbon depending on their size, by making calculations involving specific trees in Kumasi, Ghana.
