Despite many research on the role of quantity surveying, very few empirical research on the role quantity surveying has been conducted in St. Lucia. This book therefore provides an assessment of the role of quantity surveying in general and in particular in the context of Saint Lucia. In addition, the book further emphasizes the importance of environmental analysis, and key environmental forces at work impacting on the quantity surveying role. Furthermore, this book provides some of the key strategies that are available to quantity surveyors for competitive advantage.

Mr. Sylvester Joseph Sonson holds a MSc. in Quantity Surveying and MSc. in Public Policy and Management. In addition, Mr. Sonson is a fellow of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants , UK and a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada. Currently Mr. Sonson is a practicing quantity surveyor and chartered Accountant.
