One of the main issues that most of the teachers and masters of academies have been deal with is a question whether subject-matter teachers or English language teacher is better and more efficient to teach English for a specific purpose. Aim of this study got on this issues. For this purpose, both quantitive and qualitative study was investigated 40 students majoring in accounting from two classes at Novin-profit University, Ardabil Branch were non-randomly selected for the quantitive part of the study. In the beginning of term, for both of classes pre-test was given them, after 10 sessions teaching of ESP course, the same test as post-test was administered to students of both classes. Pilot study also was carried out. For qualitative study, 10 teachers both subject-matter teacher and English language teacher were interviewed. Analysis of the results represented that in both quantitive and qualitative study, English teacher was better in teaching ESP course, and with English language teacher, the proficiency level of students increased.
