This study ,The Role of the Military and other Security Agencies in conflict Management in Kaduna State 1987-2005 addresses the origin, development, and particularly the role which the Nigerian Army first and foremost and indeed other instrument of internal Security such as the Police, Immigration and State Security Services(SSS) Played during the post colonial crises era in Kaduna State. Kaduna State witnessed several crises mostly between the Hausa and Kataf communities. The crises which included the Kafanchan crisis in 1987, the Zangon Kataf in 1992 and Sharia crises in 2000 among others were cause mostly by one or more of the following reasons: religious intolerance, economic domination, bad leadership and unemployment among the youths. In most cases the Police were first to be drafted but when the crisis escalated the Military were invited to assist the Police. In all cases; normalcy and relative peace were restored.

Ashiru Sani was born in 1968. He holds a Bachelors degree in History from the famous Bayero University Kano in 1996, a Masters Degree in Military History from the Nigerian Defence Academy, Nigeria ib 2010. He has also enrolled into PhD program in History with Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Nigeria in 2011.
