The study aimed to find out which publications have been published in the area of nursing, about the development and performance of the Nurse Teacher in the classroom. This is a systematic review, whose data were collected in the databases Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS) and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), with a temporal cut performed in 2014. The nurse's performance is reflected in several aspects. The analysis of the bibliographical references allowed us to state that nurse teachers, in order to train a nurse who is able to act in all dimensions of care as a promoter of citizen, family, and community health, need pedagogical qualification.
