William D. Solecki is Professor of Geography at Hunter College, City University of New York, USA, and Director Emeritus of the CUNY Institute for Sustainable Cities. Corrie A. Griffith is Executive Officer of the Urbanization and Global Environmental Change Project of Future Earth, headquartered at the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability, Arizona State University, USA.
