The Gaffer's Guide is the mentor's companion to The Quest for Work. Together, the two books form the curriculum for SamWise Work Apprenticeships, a work training and certification program. In the past, teaching young people about the Judeo-Christian work ethic was accomplished through adults who worked alongside adolescents as they held various entry-level jobs before settling on a career path. As culture changed, this apprentice approach was neglected, negatively impacting our businesses, communities, faith institutions, and most of all, our young adults. The SamWise Work Training System is a modern, mentor-driven, train-the-trainer approach to reviving a certifiable method of investing in the next generation of reliable, American workers. SamWise apprenticeships hinge upon experienced adults who care enough--about the American culture, the workforce, and the spiritual-vocational challenges facing twenty-somethings--to assist these emerging adults in understanding and appreciating what makes work work. www.SamWise.works
Autorenporträt
SamWise Work Apprenticeships is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to train mentors in the art of impacting lives one-on-one, enabling them to maximize their potential as they move forward in life. The SamWise Work Training System focuses on seven core principles: Freedom, Fellowship, Resources, Responsibilities, Grit, Glory, and Growth. These principles flow out of the Judeo-Christian faith to create a value system that benefits the individual as well as the communities in which the individual works to make a difference.
