Produktbeschreibung
Based on a true story, this historical tale describes the great artisanal manufacture of sand and cement inlay flooring (commonly called "cementine") from the mid-nineteenth century to the present day. The protagonist of the story, a young university student who will become an architect during the story, is initially involved in the event as a discoverer of these ancient artifacts and, later, as an artisan producer of the same. In fact, with the help of two elderly art masters (descendants of one of the great producing families), known by chance, he describes not only the "magic" of creating the tile in all its productive phases, but also the birth of the same manufacture from the time of the second industrial revolution (1859) through the entire twentieth century. All this is seasoned with photographic testimonies, with a vast archive of original period material (thanks to the loving preservation of the two art masters). The book is also rich in anecdotes and facts that really happened, which will highlight a succession of emotions among all the protagonists remaining "attached" faithfully to the historical context crossed. The conclusion of the story will put to a hard test the passion undertaken by the young architect grown up inside this wonderful adventure.
