This paper is a survey of UFAL Pedagogy students' conception of the school library as a tool for supporting teaching and learning, as well as encouraging and promoting reading. It also presents suggestions for including the school library in the Pedagogical Political Project. It shows the possible advantages of a partnership between librarians and educators in the educational process. For data collection, a questionnaire was applied to 40 (forty) students enrolled in the three shifts of the Pedagogy course at the Federal University of Alagoas, Education Center (CEDU). After statistical analysis of the data, it was found that the respondents are aware of the importance of the School Library in the teaching-learning process of the Brazilian educational system. However, they indicated that they are not able to develop actions for the implementation and/or improvement of school library spaces in educational units. In this sense, the survey instrument used identified that the majorityof those interviewed had not yet taken part in educational activities related to the use of the School Library as a teaching tool.
