This book is the result of research at Master's level in Education (UFMS) defended in 2009 in the Postgraduate Program in Education at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul. The research was carried out in the interior of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, in Ribas do Rio Pardo-MS, as a case study, analyzing the reading practices present in an elementary school, with sixth grade students. We observed how reading practices are schooled and the influence of school culture on the composition and formatting of these practices.
