There be dangers in old, untouched places. . . September, 1720: One month ago, Ailee Donaghue married a stranger to save herself from scandal. Now aboard a ship bound for the New World with ninety other Scots-Irish, she has no idea what she'll be able to offer her new husband. She's a horrible knitter, a bad cook, and can barely be trusted with a sewing needle. Or will the friendships she makes along the way prove to be her salvation? * This first book in the Donaghue Histories begins the saga of the Donaghue family. Autorenporträt
C. Jane Reid's love of history began when she discovered a book about Tutankhamun's tomb in the middle school library. She's been a student of fiber arts for far less time, sadly missing the chance to learn crochet from her grandmother, but by happy circumstances, she was befriended by a crochet designer who happily taught her. A lifelong writer, C. Jane is excited to combine her interest in history with her love of crochet in a series of stories blending romance, mystery, and a touch of the supernatural. She lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband, daughter, son, and Kiwi, the laziest cat in the world.
