This book titled 'The Secretary's Companion: From Typewriting to Computer', is a timely publication aimed at simplifying typewriting and the use of computers as it relates to the processing of manuscripts by secretaries in the office. The need to fill the gap created by inadequate Typewriting and Computer textbooks to teach the students about Office Technology and Management has informed the writing of this book as a timely contribution to knowledge and incorporating indigenous materials for the sake of clarity. This book consists of Thirteen Chapters and each of the chapters was accompanied by relevant literature and exercises in order to fully monitor the skill acquisition by the learners. The book is structured into two parts. The first part of the book solely focused on Typewriting and covers Chapters 1 - 10 while the second part of the book solely focused on using the Computer to process manuscripts and it covers Chapters 11 - 13. The book has several exercises structured toenable the learners to master the relevant skills in the profession. The language used is simple and some of the contents reflect indigenous materials.
