Alexei Mishin, Jahrgang 1941, begann als Jugendlicher mit dem Eiskunstlauf im damaligen Leningrad (heute St. Petersburg). Als Paarläufer mit seiner Partnerin Tamara Moskvina feierte er internationale Erfolge, gewann Medaillen bei Europa- und Weltmeisterschaften und startete bei den Olympischen Winterspielen. Nach seiner Sportlerkarriere wurde Alexei Mishin Trainer und Professor an der renommierten Lesgaft Sportuniversität in seiner Heimatstadt. Er führte seine Schüler wie Alexei Urmanov, Evgeni Plushenko, Alexei Jagudin und Lisa Tuktamysheva zu Titeln und Medaillen bei Olympischen Spielen, Welt- und Europameisterschaften. Darüber hinaus entwickelt er bis heute innovative Übungen und Trainingsmethoden, die weltweit Anwendung finden und zur Entwicklung des Eiskunstlaufs als ein Sport und eine Kunst beitragen.
