This book contains detail information regarding proteome map generated with low-abundant proteins enriched pig (Sus scrofa) serum using tandem mass spectrometry. Pig is considered as one of the best animal model for proteomic studies. Therefore, generation of reference proteome map of pig serum can be beneficial in animal and veterinary sciences as well as in humans as serum contains blood related as well as tissue specific proteins which carry valuable information about the patho-physiological condition of the animal. Many proteins were identified along with those that are not identified earlier. Functional classification and protein-protein interaction network depicted involvement of majority of these proteins in coagulation and complement cascades. The proteome map is expected to serve as a baseline prerequisite for monitoring swine health and disease status as well as to understand different physiological or pathological conditions in pig.
