Autorenporträt
Being the youngest of five lively children, and growing up in the small Victorian town of Fredonia in Southeastern Kansas made childhood exciting for Diane Stryker Laird. Diane graduated from high school after just three years and then attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, summers in Boulder at University of Colorado, and Kansas University in Lawrence. She received her BS degree from KU in 1949 at the age of twenty. Her career has included being an English teacher in Powell, Wyoming; a Hallmark card humorous verse writer in Kansas City; and later, an SAT English teacher, realtor, and freelance writer. Living in Charlotte, North Carolina since 1955, Diane, now widowed, enjoys her two children, her two grandsons, her great-grandchild (on the way!), and all life has to offer.
