Alan L. Alder is professor of music at Ball State University where he directs the Ball State University Singers and teaches Music Appreciation to non-majors. Alder is a sought after guest conductor, clinician, and arranger for choral ensembles and bands across the United States. Alder's conducting and teaching engagements have taken him all over the U.S., throughout Europe and Main-land China. Thalia M. Mulvihill, is professor of Social Foundations and Higher Education at Ball State University, a faculty fellow for the Virginia Ball Center for Creative Inquiry, an affiliate faculty member in the Women's & Gender Studies Program and the Honors College, and currently serves as the director of the Adult, Higher and Community Education Doctoral Program, and two Certificate Programs (College & University Teaching and Community College Leadership). Her areas of research and teaching include Qualitative Research Methods, Arts-Based Research, Innovative Pedagogies, and History & Sociology of Higher Education with a focus on women and gender issues.
