We had the opportunity to review the speeches of some of the American ambassadors accredited to Haiti. Through their speeches, the diplomats reassured Haitians of the United States' commitment to the host country. We also had the opportunity to dissect an interview on Haiti by former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell, given to Professor Bill Guigley. During this interview, the former head of American diplomacy, unlike the ambassadors, stated that the United States has been working for centuries to destroy Haiti. This, among other things, is what has caused all of our concerns in this work. This book should help to understand the actions of U.S. diplomats, i.e., the aid provided to Haitians, the statements and the communication policy of the U.S. embassy in the receiving country. It should also help to understand what is at stake in the speeches and donations given to the Haitian people, the reasons and intentions behind them, and the meaning of the United States' commitment toHaiti.
