It is an excellent piece of ethnographic study with quantitative, qualitative and classroom observation data comparing the MLE and non-MLE tribal children - their educational achievement, classroom participation and learning strategies. The author also studies the communities for their awareness of the issues of language and culture in education and literacy engagement. He has visited several places where different indigenous/ tribal groups live and his exploration of research possibility and his analysis of Multilingual Education in India is remarkable.

Bapujee Biswabandan,presently working as Research Associate in UNICEF funded National Multilingual Education Resource Consortium (NMRC), New Delhi, did his M.Phil from Jawaharlal Nehru University in Multilingual Education.He visited University of Western Ontario,Canada as Commonwealth visiting research scholar for 6 months in 2010.
