Through his photography, Christopher Wilton-Steer is interested in exploring less well-documented and often misunderstood parts of the world to help demystify them and build bridges of interest and understanding between different cultures. His work has been featured in magazines and newspapers worldwide including National Geographic, The Guardian, CNN, Financial Times, and Der Spiegel. He had his first exhibition at the French Institute in Antananarivo, Madagascar, in 2016. Wilton-Steer’s second exhibition—The Artisans of al-Darb al-Ahmar: Life and Work in Historic Cairo—was shown at London’s Royal Geographical Society in 2018, at Philanthropy House in Brussels in 2019, and at the Museum Der Stadt Bad Ischl in Austria in 2021. Christopher’s third exhibition—The Silk Road: A Living History—was shown at London’s King’s Cross in 2021 and then at the Aga Khan Park in Toronto in 2022. There are plans to exhibit it in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, and Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, in 2023 as well as other cities. Peter Frankopan (born 22 March 1971) is a British historian and writer. He is Professor of World History at Worcester College, Oxford, and Director of the Oxford Center for Byzantine Research. He is a member of the Royal Asiatic Society. He is best known for his 2015 book "The Silk Roads".
