Autorenporträt
Carole Fréchette was born in Montréal and is a graduate of the National Theatre School. Her play Les quatre morts de Marie won the 1995 Governor General's Literary Award and the Chalmers Award for John Murrell's English translation of the play. She is also the winner of the 2002 Siminovitch Prize in Playwriting. John Murrell's plays have been performed in more than thirty countries. An Officer of the Order of Canada and recipient of the Governor General's Performing Arts Award for Lifetime Artistic Achievement, he has also written opera libretti and translations of Sophocles, Chekov, and Ibsen.
