Sandra has loved writing all her life from when she was at the top of her class in English to the present day at 76 years old, never thinking of being a professional but using her gift for her own and her husband's pleasure. Her short stories are, for the most part, based on facts. A small event, like her husband, Colin, building a snowman in the back garden that he decided to make into a snowwoman for a change that turned into a harrowing tale of murder. Another example is her visit to a first-division football match with Colin where she felt frightened in the massive crowd that showed how to never judge a character by how they look. There are many more examples in this book, from simple events like a walk in a garden, a charming old lady spotted in a village, clearing rats in their house, having an operation in a hospital, a sailor husband coming home, and real love. All to do with living a life. A few can be read in a minute, some a few minutes. All short enough to relay in a short conversation to a friend to create a tear or a laugh. Sandra lost her battle with cancer during the writing of this book. She wanted to share her life with you all using these little stories. They should bring you much pleasure.

Autorenporträt
Sandra died quite suddenly from cancer in January 2019 at the age of 77. She had just finished writing this book of short stories. Many of the stories are based on real events, only a few are fictional. Sandra and Colin were married for 55 years and they had two children. Her husband, Colin, spent 24 years in the Royal Navy. During his career, they lived in London, Portsmouth, Plymouth, Singapore and Hong Kong. For the rest of her life, she lived happily with Colin in Crowthorne, Berkshire. Sandra's hobbies were gardening, Tai Chi, yoga and walking. Her passion, however, was writing and she hoped these stories would give you as much pleasure as she got from writing them.
