In this book, I build on the lived reality of my research, design and implementation of food programs as I introduce the theory of food kinship, re-define food literacy, and present the creation of slocalization as a food-systems methodology. These are all highly influenced by my inter-disciplinary academic approach, which includes but is not limited to Anthropology, Sociology, Applied Human Sciences, Community Economic Development, and Geography.
