For the church body, we were not allowed to meet in person, and for the first time in modern history, the church was at a standstill. Much like it was in the past times when the Christian movement was being hampered. One retired minister had a simple plan, her name was Reverend Daphene Richard. She was an ordained Elder in the Church of the Nazarene. One just does not retire from the call into ministry. The call is a lifelong service. Her vision was simple yet especially important to her. That mission was to bring joy and happiness to fellow Christian friends of hers, and to do this meant sending out monthly short devotionals. She had asked her son to help write them for her. and she would provide the addresses to mail them out to her friends. She believed that getting something in the old-fashioned mail would be better than using electronic means to send out these devotionals. Thus, began what was called the SONCrew. What started as no more than five friends blossomed into a list being sent to forty people who were encouraged to share with others. In the spirit of Jesus's words. "Freely you have received, freely give" For six to eight months, The SONCrew sent some small inspiration to friends and family.
