This book is the result of research carried out for a Master's degree in Social History. Its aim was to study and analyse the newspapers Cruzeiro do Sul and Diário de Sorocaba during the period of the establishment and consolidation of the Authoritarian State, when Brazil was successively governed by the military. By investigating the editorials of these two newspapers, the main ones in the city at the time, it was possible to see the relationship between the worldview of the group that made up these periodicals and the national situation.
