Sharon Ellsberry of Athens, Texas has authored five children's books: The Spaniel Family Goes to the State Fair, The Spaniel Family's Pen Pal Adventure, The Mystery of the Spaniel Family's Dog House, The Spaniel Family's Thanksgiving, and her latest, The Spaniel Family's Time Capsule Mystery. In all of her stories, she weaves the threads of childhood fantasies and the joy of being with animals. Sharon is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. Her Pen Pal book was honored at the North Texas Book Festival, in the spring of 2008, as a finalist for the Children's Book Award. In 2010, her Dog House Mystery book was suggested for the master reading list for the Texas Bluebonnet Award, and in 2012 the Thanksgiving book was awarded the Dove Foundation's seal of approval. Her State Fair book is now in its fourth printing. Sharon really enjoys doing school visits and has been a guest author at hundreds of schools. She has entertained thousands of children in her travels. Her author-visit programs include power-point presentations, creative storytelling with fun skits performed by students, Spaniel family puppet theater, and interactive discussions on the writing and editing process. She is also available for program presentations at bookstores, libraries, and club meetings.
