The study offers a comprehensive look at the income situation of the elderly and evaluates the methodological procedures and indicators used for assessing the standard of living of the elderly in the Czech Republic.The study describes the standing the elderly have in society by their level of income, offering a regional analysis, and considers the levels of poverty and financial resources needed while taking a look in more detail at the differences between working and non-working seniors. The study links qualitative and quantitative data obtained from EU SILC, HBS and from a questionnaire survey. The findings can contribute to social policy drafting and in the quantification of standard of living indicators.
