The Banking Commission of Central Africa has undertaken to bring the banking profession into line with international standards. This dynamic has been marked by a strengthening of the regulatory arsenal to better ensure the sustainability of the institutions subject to the law. It is well known that banks are sometimes at fault, either actively or passively, due to the negligence of their agents, most of the time due to the poor banking culture of their personnel who, in most cases, work in ignorance of the law governing the profession. Our book reports on all the legal rules that affect the banking profession very closely. The legal framework of this profession involves an integrated banking system and several institutional bodies. Credit institutions benefiting from the monopoly of access to the profession are subject to the rules of consumer protection and the fight against money laundering. They are bound by a certain number of professional obligations and are subject to the Basel management rules. The profession has a marked particularity that results from public control justified by the monetary utility of banks.
