Since parental involvement plays a crucial role for the cognitive and social development of a child. Despite such tempting support for its importance, current studies incessantly showed parent involvement is underutilized both in developing and developed countries. Therefore, this study critically traces the status of parental involvement in one of the developing countries - Ethiopia. Through this research project the author aims to share examples of what we consider to be the most potential mechanisms and recommendations for scaling up the status of parental involvement in developing countries.

Currently, Jerusalem Yibeltal is a PhD student at AAU in comparative and International Education. I received my MA from AddisAbaba University in Curriculum and Instruction. I graduated my BED from BDU in Pedagogical Science with Composite English. I also received BED from BDU in Amharic with Minor English. At the beginning I got Diploma from BDU.
