The final years of Paul's life, spans the time beginning with his arrest in Jerusalem as recorded in Acts 21, his two year captivity in Caesarea and the ill-fated voyage to Rome, to his death in Rome some time later. The historical evidence is limited, as a result much is left to the imagination to reconstruct what happened in those years. It interacts with history as the first major persecution of Christians by the Roman Emperor Nero happens at that time. This book is therefore a dramatic fictional historical narrative. However this book, like all the other books I have written, is ultimately about the revelation of God as Father who wants to have relationship with his sons and daughters. Fictional writing gives the privilege of exploring this in a human context through the way the characters interact and behave; what they say to each other; how they to come to terms with the amazing revelation that God the Father was in Christ reconciling the world to himself and what this means in their everyday lives.
