Produktbeschreibung
My artistic practice and output has maintained many facets of who I am and what interests me, but has always presented itself as rooted in the grotesque, the rude, the inappropriate and the taboo because that is how I view myself as a woman, as a human. I locate the female body as the ultimate host of sensuality, revolt and provocation. Through the deeply rooted notions of desire and repulsion, I find the boundaries which have been set before me and taunt, push or dissolve them to reveal the conversation which festers between the interior and exterior (specifically as it relates to biological and psychological factors). My aspirations in life comingle with those of myself as an artist; I wish to share my experiences and my story. I have found teaching to be a rare and gratifying experience; the problem solving and creative investigations required in such a field as Fine Art are uniquely rewarding and I intend to pursue a career as both a professional artist and as an instructor in academia. I hope to continue the conversation of feminism in the twenty-first century, and along with it the many notions which define us as humans, sexually and otherwise.
