Autorenporträt
Richard Arum is Dean of the University of California Irvine School of Education. His past work with various co-authors includes Aspiring Adults Adrift: Tentative Transitions of College Graduates (University of Chicago Press, 2014); Academically Adrift: Limited Learning on College Campuses (University of Chicago Press, 2011); Judging School Discipline: The Crisis of Moral Authority (Harvard University Press, 2003); Stratification in Higher Education: A Comparative Study (Stanford University Press, 2007); and Improving Learning Environments: School Discipline and Student Achievement in Comparative Perspective (Stanford University Press, 2012). Irenee Beattie is Associate Professor of Sociology at University of California, Merced. Her work examines social inequalities by race, class, gender, and sexualities in educational experiences and outcomes, with a particular focus on the causes and consequences of variation in social capital. Her research has been funded by grants from the Spencer Foundation and the American Educational Research Association and published in such outlets as Sociology of Education, Journal of Higher Education, and Youth & Society. Karly Ford is an Assistant Professor at the Pennsylvania State University. Her research focuses on the relationship between education, social stratification and the politics of race data. Her work has appeared in Educational Researcher, Journal of Higher Education, and Research in Social Stratification and Mobility.
