This book is divided into two sections : The first section discussed SirsiDynix, which is the largest in the library automation industry. Once the library management system shares a common database to perform all the basic functions in the library, the system is integrated. This section examines the current Integrated Library System (ILS) Symphony in the International Islamic University Malaysia. Symphony 3.4 is the updated used in the IIUM library since the 2nd quarter of 2010 until today. The study, however, is based on some references point of view and a few interviews with a staff member of the library who works with the symphony since it applied. The study assesses the libraries' work with vendors, who provide ILS to build an integrated system in conjunction with modern technologies. The Second section discussed the reference transaction activities at the reference desk in the IIUM Gombak Library. The main aim was to find out how the IIUM reference librarians act towards theusers during reference interviews.
