We meet three retired amateur musicians who meet regularly to play together and entertain one another with impromptu story telling. Sometimes, but by no means always, the tales are prompted by musical associations: they are always whimsical, ironic, sad, thought-provoking, or heartwarming. Autorenporträt
Robert Purvis was born and bred in Essex and took an honour's degree in French at the University of Manchester. Since then, he has lived in the North of England and is now happily settled in North Yorkshire. He has always been interested in writing and in language in general. He has already published two collections of short stories introduced by the trio and a couple of novels. His interests apart from writing are cricket, painting in oils, his family and grandchildren, and most of all, music. He is a competent viola player, playing regularly in local orchestras, and he plays the violin for fun with local chamber groups. He is now widowed, but he and his wife used to enjoy motoring around France and visiting other European countries. He keeps himself far too busy to get bored and would like to have more hours in the day.
