Christie Duzich worked as a curriculum writer for junior high and high school public schools. She noticed that textbooks did not address the important social issues that young people face, so she decided to write a collection of books to do just that. Inspired by her work with students and by the experiences of her five children, she wrote The Tales of Shittle and Little, a series of books that tackle the subjects of sex, drinking, STDs, and pregnancy prevention in an informative, yet humorous, way.
