Autorenporträt
Robert L. Kasprzycki was born in Connecticut and first showed an interest in art at an early age. Initially drawing cartoons, he expanded his interest to portraits, scenery and landscapes utilizing pastels, watercolors, then oils and acrylics. He built upon this talent and after graduating from Syracuse University with a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design embarked upon a career as an industrial designer and manager, working in corporate designing innovative products in the manufacturing industry. There are several design patents and a mechanical patent to his credit. While an industrial designer, he also mentored others as an adjunct professor. After completing a Master of Science in Instructional Design, and a MBA, he worked in the training field designing courses, courseware, and curricula for a variety of organizations in higher education, corporations, and non-profits. He also served in the military as a United States Army Reserve Officer in the active reserves for over a decade, achieving the rank of Major. Upon retiring he started a fine art business, desiring to get back to his creative penchant and continues to complete works of art with acrylic, oil, and digital media. A college creative writing course sparked an interest in fiction writing, and he was inspired by Native Americans, their plight and their cultures, to write The Talisman. When he's not writing, drawing, or painting, he enjoys photography, tennis, traveling, and volunteer work.
