Maria Mar is a poet, artist and shaman who creates journeys of healing, transformation and renewal through her poetry and illustrations. Her poems are a blend of Rumi, Kalil Gibran and Maya Angelou with a touch of Latin America in the influence of her "poetry parents: " Pablo Neruda and Julia de Burgos. Maria has been featured as a Poetry Performer in PBS TV Channel 13 and her poetry was included in Breaking Ground: Anthology of Puerto Rican Women Writers in New York (1980-2012). Maria has performed her poetry on stage for several decades, allowing her voice, presence and dance to amplify the potency of her poetry
