Sorbents are widely used in hydrometallurgy to concentrate various metal ions and neutralize waste solutions containing heavy metal ions. A wide range of ion exchange, complex polymers, and polymer matrices have now been developed. It is known that the industrial methods of obtaining such sorbents are polycondensation, polymerization, and copolymerization of monomers with different functional groups. Chelating polymer sorbents are widely used to concentrate and separate trace amounts of elements. The future development of their use is related to their high selectivity and effective effect in concentrating elemental ions from solutions with complex chemical compositions. Sorbents are non-toxic, long-lasting, and easy to transport. Chelating sorbents are of particular importance due to the presence of chemically active functional analytical groups capable of forming chelated complexes with the ions of elements in the solution.The monograph can be used as a reference for relevant educational areas.
