The extreme operating conditions in deepwater drilling lead to serious related problems. The heat exchange between the drilling system and ocean currents exists because the continuous flowing cold currents carry heat away due to the internal heat convection, external heat convection and heat conduction, which affects the rheology of drilling fluid, cementing and completion fluid. The similar phenomena occurs at the bottom hole, which is under high temperature and high pressure. For petroleum engineers, this knowledge is valuable in the proper exploitation of hydrocarbon resources. This book analyze the numerical thermal process in drilling process, enable the dynamic temperature profile in the deepwater wellbore and will benefit the cementing program, drilling fluid design, enable casing thermal stress to be determined and evaluation of well control or dynamic kill operations with heat information in the wellbore.
