The one area receiving the smallest amount of attention is with training. Most employers point to the plethora of management training courses offered in-house and online. Their assumption is that every facet of management must be covered in the curriculum that is offered. However, most don't realize that there are two basic components required for success; the tasks a manager performs and the way a manager behaves. The available management courses cover the tasks quite well and in detail. But, management behaviors are addressed, at best, only obliquely. The Ten Commandments of Management describes the ten essential behaviors that are required to be a successful manager in business. These make up such an important component of management that the omission of any one behavior can impede a career, or destine it to failure.
