Coming from a world of communism in Belarus, where everyone is equal and told what to do, Aksana took a huge risk at a young age by moving to a country that was foreign both in language and in political ideologies. Autorenporträt
Aksana Palevich was born and raised in a small village in Belarus. By the age of 13, she had moved to the capital city of Minsk together with her family. After fruitless efforts of getting admitted to the National State University, she took a two-year higher education program at Minsk Technical College. Those were hard financial times, so instead of continuing her education further, she started an early career working as a personal assistant in a large transportation company in Belarus. Searching for the means to establish and develop herself, she took the risk of moving abroad alone with just ten dollars in her pocket and a bag of clothes. The power and will to survive made her impossible dreams possible. She eventually graduated from the Copenhagen Business School, obtaining her bachelor and master's degrees with top grades. Battling a very tough job market competition for graduates, she successfully went through a lengthy assessment process and received her first real job offer at one of the top five consulting firms in the world. In 2007 she started her fast-paced career in Accenture Management Consulting, working long hours and flying long distances. Aksana worked with multinational global companies for more than a decade, and recently became an independent consultant, running her own consultancy company. She continues to challenge herself, reaching impossible goals, discovering new ways of living, learning and enjoying life at the fullest. Aksana currently lives in Copenhagen, Denmark, together with her daughter, Maali Mogensen.
