Born in Moultrie, GA, on July 16, 1946, John W. Lawson grew up in Tallahassee, FL. After being injured and breaking his back in an accident in the late 70s, he moved just outside of Pensacola, FL in a log cabin he built in the middle of 30 acres on Perdido River. John has read many books throughout the years; Louis L'Amour's westerns are his favorites. After joining the "Bonifay Trail Ride" over 30 years ago (a week-long 100 mile horseback ride with wagons), he rides often. When John is not riding, he is fishing out of his boat in the backyard on the river. John is the father of four daughters and has eleven grandchildren. He is known for taking one day at a time.
