Autorenporträt
John Boyne wurde 1971 in Dublin, Irland, geboren, wo er auch heute lebt. Er studierte "Englische Literatur' und 'Kreatives Schreiben' in Dublin und Norwich. Er ist der Autor von sechs Romanen, darunter "Der Junge im gestreiften Pyjama", der zwei Irische Buchpreise gewann, für den "British Book Award" nominiert war und vor kurzem verfilmt wurde. John Boynes Romane wurden in über vierzig Sprachen übersetzt.
Oliver Jeffers, geb.1977, ist Designer, Illustrator und Maler. Zahlreiche Auszeichnungen und Ausstellungen u.a. in New York, Dublin, London, Sydney und Belfast. Gewinner des renommierten Nestlé Children's Book Prize in Gold 2005 und des Blue Peter Book 2006. Jeffers lebt nach seinen Reisen um die Welt wieder in Belfast, Nordirland.
