The Tenth Division is unique. It was the first Irish division raised and sent to the Front by Ireland: in fact it was the first Division of Irishmen that ever existed in the British Army. In the Tenth Division, Unionist and Nationalist, Catholic and Protestant, lived, fought and died side by side like brothers. Made up entirely of men who had no military experience, the Tenth Divison was to take part in some of the bloodiest episodes of the War at Suvla Bay and Anzac Cove.
