Dr. Hines received her B.A. in Theatre, M.Ed. and MAC in Secondary Education: Theatre Education, and received her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Arizona State University in 2013. Her writing on Theatre Education appears in numerous publications and she received the American Alliance for Theatre & Education Research Award (2012).
