This project is a theoretical paper that seeks to harness the prospects in the 'words' and 'spirit' of Fiscal Governance that must trickle down to the entire polity. Since this academic memoir aims to proffer theoretical and practical solutions to the context of its research problem in fiscal sciences, the synthesis of Economic Theories and Political Theories are adopted to analysing the basic tools of Decision Sciences in this project. The descriptive; prescriptive; and narrative level of analysis make up the preliminary scope and the methodology of this paper. The theoretical analysis is based on reviewing scarce literatures on the price of government and fiscal deficit for the purpose of clarity. The aim and objective of this project is to find the role political emolument and public remuneration (the price of government) play on fiscal deficit, and to proffer some scientific recommendations to solving the problem of fiscal deficit. This project concludes from its findings that political emolument and public remuneration (the price of government) plays a significant role in fiscal deficit, and that fiscal deficit can be minimized and eliminated if there is a cut in the price of government.
