Autorenporträt
Ed Semler retired from the United States Coast Guard in December of 2007 with over 25 years of military service in both the United States Army and United States Coast Guard. In the United States Army he was an enlisted man and was honorably discharged as a specialist four (E-4). While in the United States Coast Guard he was enlisted, obtaining the rank of master chief petty officer (E-9), was commissioned as an officer, and retired as a lieutenant (O-3E). After his military career Ed dabbled in teaching at a Vocational Technical School and was a self-employed plumber for several years. As a past time he enjoys writing. His other publications are "Around The World," which details his 25 years of service as an officer and enlisted man in the U.S. Army and U.S. Coast Guard along with "U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Sherman (WHEC-720) Circumnavigation Deployment 2001," which details the Sherman's historic circumnavigation of the globe and deployment to the Persian Gulf in 2001.
